When Kirsty and her family decided to transform their detached home in Paisley, the brief was ambitious: a double-height extension to open up the kitchen into the garden, complete with a frameless corner window and large, slimline black aluminium doors. It was a vision several suppliers felt would be difficult – and costly – to achieve.
The challenge
Kirsty knew exactly what she wanted: a frameless corner window and expansive lift-and-slide doors with a sleek, black aluminium finish. However, several other suppliers were hesitant, warning that the structural glazing would likely blow the budget. Determined to find someone who could bring her vision to life, Kirsty got in touch with the team at Century 21 directly.
The Century 21 approach
The team at Century 21 were confident from the outset that the frameless corner window could be achieved without compromising on design or budget. Kirsty and the team worked closely together throughout the project – exchanging design ideas and reference images, and meeting at the Century 21 showroom to explore frame profiles and hardware options in person.
Despite the scale and complexity of the project, Century 21 worked hard to minimise disruption to the build timeline, with materials arriving ahead of schedule.
The result
The finished extension delivers exactly what Kirsty envisioned: a stunning frameless corner window and large, slim-profile black aluminium doors that operate on an easy lift mechanism — sturdy enough for daily family use, yet effortless for the kids to open. The transparent pricing and quality workmanship left a lasting impression, and the results speak for themselves.
Kirsty has since returned to Century 21 for further internal doors and upstairs glazing, with plans to complete the front of the house next.
